QCT extends its 5G portfolio

Making 5G outdoor and multi-site friendly

5G campus network specifications and demands are on the rise – with ever more complex projects being planned, especially with regard to multi-site and outdoor applications. QCT offers two new solutions for this, both of which we present here in detail.

Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT) has been enabling enterprises with its end-to-end OmniPOD Enterprise 5G powered by Intel® solution since 2021. It offers an enterprise 5G network solution, consisting of a standalone 5G core and a flexible system configuration, designed for the RAN, to meet different coverage and capacity requirements. This year, QCT is introducing two new solutions to expand and complement its portfolio: a local User Plane Function (UPF) and a new Outdoor Remote Radio Unit (RRU).  This white paper demonstrates how this portfolio enables organisations to manage their 5G operations across multiple sites and locations, thereby unlocking the full potential of 5G networks.
Additionally, the white paper highlights new application areas and explains how 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) can be combined with OmniPOD technology. In addition, the white paper covers two new use cases – in the areas of Smart Healthcare and Smart Agriculture.

The white paper covers the following topics:

  • a flexible and scalable end-to-end solution for 5G campus networks
  • how AI and 5G interact
  • solutions for complex multi-site and outdoor applications
  • new use cases from healthcare and smart agriculture
