Why is 5G important for industry?
Many companies around the world are undergoing profound change. Industry 4.0 is not called the fourth revolution for nothing. But without infrastructure there can be no added value. The basic framework for Industry 4.0 is the 5G mobile communications standard. Without it, productions will not really become digital, mobile and autonomous.
5G has up to 40 times faster signal propagation time than LTE. The delay is only one millisecond. Reaction times that people cannot perceive. And it’s about bandwidth, because the exchange of data between machines, systems and robots is increasingly the focus of a Smart Factory.
FUENF-G takes up this mega topic and shows solutions for the vertical industries of mobile machines via more efficiency in logistics or applications in the medical sector.
What do we want to achieve?
FUENF-G is an initiative that will highlight the application potential of 5G in industry and in companies in a holistic and cross-sector way and thus make a contribution to implementation. After all, 5G is a key technology that promises to trigger a true revolution and enable industrial applications that still sound like dreams of the future.
Who are we?
The website project FUENF-G was created on the initiative of and by a team around the specialist journalists and long-standing industry experts Frank Jablonski, Paul Kho, Harry Jacob and Marion Henig.
