RSConnect is a highly innovative company in the field of digitalization, operating primarily in the manufacturing and engineering industries. The company creates digital retrofitting and transparency in existing production structures, improving productivity and effectiveness. The company is an expert and pioneer in the field of Industrial 5G. Digital business models, especially for machine manufacturers, is the company’s third pillar. The aim is to develop and market new offerings and revenue models for mechanical engineering.

“As a service provider, we support the first step of your machine data. We retrofit sensors, tap existing signals electrically decoupled and communicate with existing controls – always in the simplest way. In addition to signal acquisition, our expertise is also the basis for predictive maintenance, for which our technology is always equipped and expandable. For you, this is the basis for the next sensible digitization step in each case.”
Rainer Schmutte, CEO of RSConnect

RSConnect provides a live dashboard directly on site and exports the data via OPC UA / MQTT. Is there already data from the field? However, often no uniform formats of the data exist. Our service is to transfer them to the IT systems in a uniform OPC UA format.

Basic Workshop 5G Campus Networks

As one of the first providers ever, the Osnabrück-based company RSConnect GmbH is offering a workshop for those interested in 5G. Rainer Schmutte, CEO of RSConnect, is certain that 5G will determine our future in the next few years, especially in the industrial environment: “I am convinced that 5G will play an essential role in factory planning – and that already in the near future.”

After two years of intensive 5G experience through participation in the 5G ACIA (at the time for the company WAGO) as well as in the 5G User Group of the VDMA, the company wants to provide information for orientation. 5G offers the basis for a modular and flexible manufacturing structure and has the potential to unite many existing solutions on one technology. However, many topics and terms are used simultaneously in the market, making it difficult for outsiders to focus on the use of 5G in industry.

In addition to the active role as project manager in what will probably be the first live showcase at the 5G CMM Expo in October 2019 in Hanover, participants in the workshop will also see a live presentation here for a topic in which 5G technology can already be used today: Data acquisition e.g. from the brownfield via OPC UA.

RSConnect offers this workshop for companies that want to get involved with 5G but have not yet decided to apply for a license. Contents are:

  • Introduction and basics 5G
  • Comparison of technologies
  • 5G applications / UseCases
  • Benefits / Network concepts / Operating models – Costs
  • Frequency application process / implementation
  • Workshop on UseCases for your company

The workshop will show possibilities for what 5G can be used for in the future, when and why other wireless systems are not suitable in manufacturing and why it may make sense to choose a wireless system at all.

In addition, individual workshop services are also offered based on the basic workshop, for example as support for the roll-out in several locations.
