Embedded World 2023 – What about 5G and edge computing at the fair? Answers will be provided by Fraunhofer IIS (Nuremberg) Thomas von der Grün (Head of Locating & Communication Systems Department) and Bernhard Niemann (Head of Broadband and Broadcast Department). Both see other technologies, e.g. LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network), in the foreground in the industrial environment. Therefore, they appeal for a closer exchange between the mobile radio community and the users in order to use the “perfect fit” of 5G and EDGE computing.
